Blue Star Lip Dub 2013

In December of 2012, Blue Star Elementary Principal Mrs. Teisha Kothe had a big idea.

What if we as a school do a lip dub?, she thought. It would be a great way for our staff to work together and a fun way to ramp up the energy for the long winter months. We could use it as a way to show kids they can accomplish great things and that reading is an important key to success.

Three months later, and after an amazing team effort from the entire Blue Star Staff, student body, and their families we proudly present our lip dub. This isn't your typical lip dub though. Lots and lots of schools have done those. This one has a special twist. We created the World's first ever "pop up lip dub", reviving an old show VH1 used to air in the 1990s.  Mozilla's new Popcorn Maker and Camtasia 2 software courtesy of Techsmith allowed us to pull off the technical wizardry. We also received lots of help from the folks at WZZM 13 and the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The anticipation, the preparation, and the incredible energy in the building will all be remembered for years to come by all involved with this projects. Hats off to everyone who played a role in making this happen!
Thanks to WZZM 13 for the news coverage too.
